Tamae Watanabe, Age 73, Oldest Woman to Climb Mount Everest

Tamae Watanabe, beat her own age record for an Everest climb by a woman set 10 years ago. She reached Everest’s summit from the Tibetan side on May 19, 2012 at the age of 73 years and 180 days.  “It was much more difficult for me this time,” Watanabe told reporters . “I felt I was weaker and had less power. This time it was certainly different. I felt that I had gotten old.”  Click here to read more.

  1. I’m 50 y/o, widow, no children, highly educated, but feel that my life has no meaning or mision anymore. When I see a 73 woman doing this, I think my life has not ended yet. There are possibilities to dream and achieve! I would like to restart……Thanks.
